A Career in Medicine My experiences at home have helped prepare me for a public life in medicinal drug I grew up in an economically depressed area in San Francisco where my mother was a single parent. Growing up without a father, I developed self-confidence and a sense of independence at an archaeozoic age. In order to help my mother financially, I unloaded arrest trucks during my years in high school. As a result, I was inefficient to enjoy many of the activities most youngsters enjoy. However, I am thankful for the design and inner-strength I developed while overcoming the hardships I faced. After graduating from Lowell High School, I entered the University of California, Berkeley. The topic of nutrition interested me. Therefore, I embarked upon a rigorous feed in of study as a nutrition and food science major. My graduation exercise year at Berkeley was very demanding academically. However, the toughest obstacle proved to be the separation from my family. Fortunately, I received great support from my loved ones during this p... ...s and to the understanding of the senescence process. My exposure to the clinical and research aspects of medicine have shown me that a career in medicine involves an extraordinary amount of sacrifice. I am unforced to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve my goal to become a doc and practice medicine in my community. The trials I have faced and the lessons I have learned growing up in my community get out allow make a special contribution to the medical vocation and to the patients I serve.
